Students visiting news station and meet with weathermanStudents have been working on weather related units based on their ELA curriculum and have extending their inquiry through project-based learning opportunities. Ms. Pauschert's second grade class has been working on weather project with the guidance of the Vice President of Programs at the Kohl Museum. Mrs. LaBelle's kindergarten class has made weather forecasting videos using a green screen. Students have monitored and collected data of the daily temperature and the amounts of precipitation using a rain gauge and thermometers. The classes were able to create a weather station for the classroom and video chat with a meteorologist and tornado chaser. Students were able to take a personal tour from Storm Team Meteorologist Brian Nizansky to see the radio recording and tv studios.
